Narang, after a decade of hardwok and research, is in which he had presented a new theory that certain biological factors are significant variables in the economics development of any country. His theory had proved true. Had such book been written in some other country, the author would have honoured with Nobel Prize. But unfortunately, no National Award has been announced so far. This most suitable and deserving cased should not have been ignored by the Government and the other Associations and Clubs or organisations, who announce for Excellence, every year.

S.D. Narang had dedicated his entire life in the services of the Indian Entertainment Industry. He has many

distinctions to his credit, as for as his unique contributions in the film field are concerned. His film career started from Lahore, 11 years before the partition.

His glorious 50 Golden years of carrier, carries many credit­able achievements :

At Lahore : 1936-1946: During this period he was not only the leading man, but also the leading producer, director and even Studio owner. His starrer Khajanchi in Punjabi was the first Indian film which proved Golden Jubilee Hit. His other Punjabi Picture include Zamindar, Ravi Paar, Patwari, Gawandhi, Thekedar and Sahara. He was the owner of Upper India Studio in Lahore. He produced Yeh Hai Zindagi and Kamini, in which he played the Hero.

At Calcutta: 1947-1951: (As Hero, Producer-director-writer and Studio owner). Chittagong Armoury Raid: It was India’s first Revolutionary movie. It was produced by him and stars were Geetshree, Surya Sen and Smriti Biswas. His other productions in which he had also played the lead were: Nai Bhabhi (with Kaushalya, Maya Bannerjee)Ek Aurat ( Opp. Geetashree), Lottery (with Kaushalya in romantic lead), Apara Jitha ( Malini Devi, Shibhi Biswas and Pahari Saniyal), Chiner Putul ( Smriti Biswas, Dheeraj Bhattacharya, and Shibhi Biswas), Iran Ki Ek Raat (Jamuna Devi, Kanan Devi and Kajari). He was the owner of Bengal National Studio Calcutta.

In Mumbai: 1952-1986 : As producer, director, writer, Doctor an Author of well acclaimed book, "An Introduction To The Theory Of Bio—Economies”. In Mumbai as well he produced and directed many films in which he played leading roles. In Durbaan he played lead opposite Kaushalya. In Arab Ka Saudagar he played lead with Pradeep Kumar, Shashi Kala and Smriti Biswas. Yahudi Ki Ladki in which he played lead, with Pradeep Kumar, Madhubala, and Smriti Biswas in the cast. In Do Thug he played and performed with stars like Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, Sarika, and Ajit etc. His other films include Dilli Ka Thug, Bombay Ka Chor, Shehnai, Sagai, Anmol Moti (1st underwater movie), Babul Ki Galiyan, Ram Kasam, College Girl, Do Ustad, Kismatwala. He is also the author of ‘Hippy Aur Yogi’, Human Psychology and above all Bio Economies for which he was honoured with ‘The Scri Of Honour’ by Bombay Bio­logical Association. He expired on 25th Jan 1986, leaving a place, which is impossible to be replaced by anybody else. He was the legend.

Born on 18.6.1918 at lalpur (now in Pak) Satyadev Narang, was brought up and educated at Lahore, from where he did his B.Sc, M.B.B.S, Ph.D at Lahore Medical College. In 1960 he got married to Filmstar Smriti Biswas, with whom he had played romantic lead in many movies. Now his son Mr. Rajiv S. Narang has pledged to continue his good work and goodwill. He has already published the 2nd edition of his popular book ‘Bio-Economy’. He is the man who says proudly ‘I have Mother’. Yes his mother legendry star of yesteryears Mrs. Smriti Biswas Narang, whom he is looking after like an obedient son. She is very satisfied and happy with her son, who is proud of being the son of this legendry couple.
